Saturday Morning Game Plan (Map Below) -
Oak Harbor is a great venue, but has a lot of walking back and forth. To be efficient and save our energy for sailing, we will stick with this plan:
9:00AM Meet and start unloading the trailers.
Once boats are unloaded from the trailer and masts are stepped, A fleet sailors get changed, while B fleet sailors are rigging the boats
A fleet sailors need to be changed and ready to go before the team meeting.
10:10AM Team meeting near the boat ramp
10:30AM Competitors meeting boat ramp
Once the competitors meeting is over and A fleet is launching, B fleet sailors can change (at least into base layers), then walk down to the spectator dock. They should help move all the gear bags for A fleet as well.
We have a lot to do between 9:00AM and 10:10AM- sailors will not have time to walk down to the spectator dock and back before our team meeting.
Wind Policy -
The maximum wind for high school sailing events is 25knts. Each fleet (Gold, Silver, and Gallium/Bronze) can be called off in less wind depending on the skill set of the group.
The expectation is that all teams show up and unload/prep boats no matter what, and then safety decisions are made day-of with the wind speed at the time. Occasionally, they will send teams home early if the weather is unsailable and remains so for multiple hours.
We are looking forward to a great event to end our competitive season!
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Best,
Cooper and Anna
