Sailors and Parents,

On Monday, Aug 22th, we will have our High School Sailing Pre-Season meeting, 6pm @ The Bellingham Yacht Club in the downstairs room.  This meeting is for both parents and students who plan to be on the team or are interested in learning more about it.  The team is open to all high schoolers and 8th graders in Whatcom County. We have many important topics to cover at the meeting including practice and regatta schedules, expectations, and required paperwork. It will also be a good meeting to attend for new sailors interested in joining the team, so encourage anyone who might be interested to come.

Practice and Regatta schedule for the season are posted on the website: http://www.whatcomsailing.com/schedule.html

Practice starts Tuesday Aug 29th @ 3:30 at Lakewood. (We will discuss start time more at the meeting as we adjust to the new schedule)

FORMS / WAIVERS
Attached are the forms and waivers that each sailor, new or returning, needs to fill out.  Please complete these forms and bring to the meeting along with team dues which are $250 for both fall and spring seasons. Make check payable to Whatcom Community Sailing.

ALSO, all high schoolers (not 8th gradesailors must do the required sports clearance with your school.  This is an online process now at your schools website.  Please read the attached Fall Sports Info document for details on this process.  A sports physical is also required, so get that scheduled ASAP.

All this paperwork is required before you can practice. For a list of everything that is required see the Join Page of our website.

We will go over all this in more detail at the meeting, but feel free to contact me if you have questions!

Our end of year potluck and awards party is scheduled for this Monday, 5/29, 4:00pm.  The party will be at Jacob's house this year, address is 1873 N Shore Rd. This will be a potluck, so please use the link below to sign up for what food you can bring. If you could also put how many family members you are bringing on the right hand column of the sheet, that would be very helpful!

I hope everyone can attend, both sailors and parents please!.  Anyone that was part of the team either spring or fall should come. It will be a potluck like last year, so everyone should bring something.  I have created a sign up sheet online, just click on this link: POTLUCK SIGN UP  Everyone please fill out your name and what you plan to bring.
