Team Ski Trip

Hi sailors!
I know a lot of you expressed interest in a team ski trip up at Baker this season. For dates, Scott and I were thinking either Saturday, Dec 29th or Sunday, Dec 30th. We need to plan for drivers, so if you are interested in coming please respond with the date that works best for you, or if both dates work just let me know that you want to come. If you don't make it known that you are coming there won't be a seat in a car for you, so please do respond! It would also be great if we could get a few parents willing to drive.
Happy holidays!

Sehome / Bellingham Win Hawaii IMU Regatta

Last weekend our Sehome and Bellingham varsity teams traveled to Hawaii for the IMU Regatta.  The Sehome team represented by Miles, Elise, Jack, and Lisa placed 1st overall!  The Bellingham team of Riley and Elsa combined with Jeremy and Andrew from North Kitsap and placed 3rd overall.  2nd place was Athenian from San Francisco who is coached by our friend Andrew Nelson.  There were 10 teams at the regatta, 5 from California, 3 from Hawaii, and our two Northwest teams.  Racing was competitive, but we were always near the front.  Both teams sailed smart and consistent which helped gain them the win.  It was a great regatta all around.  So congrats to the team!  Results are attached.

Boat Moving Saturday and Dinner on Monday

Team,

Boats need to be moved and stored for the winter.  Please come down to the TD Curran parking lot at 4pm on Saturday to help move some boats around.  Shouldn't take long if everyone shows up to help.

Also, there will be a team dinner on Monday at Lexy's grandpas house (3656 Toad Lake Rd.)  Spaghetti is the meal and it will start at 6:30pm.  Here's a list of who signed up to bring what:

Salad- Elsa, Will, Miles
Soda - Freeman and Curran
Dessert - Jack W, Victoria, Ali, and Elise
Garlic Bread - Lisa and Greg

Bring enough for about 25 people.

Thanks, see you tomorrow,

Regatta Cancelled

Team,

The regatta this weekend has been cancelled.  Not enough teams want to come up.  So that means we are done for the fall season with regattas and Thursday will be our last practice for the fall.

Stay tuned for a couple things: A dinner party at Lexy's house probably next week and we need to move some boats around for winter storage soon.  I will get both scheduled and let you know.

Cascadia Cup Details:

The following are going: Hailey, Greg, Will, Curran, Lexy, Lainey, Freeman, Liam H, Ali, Ondrea, Jack W, Jack T, Riley, Sawyer, Amy, Liam D, Elise, Nick, Victoria, Lisa, Miles, Jeffrey, Elsa. There are 30 teams half high school and half college.   We will be meeting at the Sehome haggens at 7:00am and carpooling from there, and returning Sunday evening.  We will be staying in a large building like last year near the sailing site.  Concrete floors, so don't forget your sleeping pads, bags and pillows.  Liam H and Nick are taking the psat in the morning on saturday and coming down with Steve hood in the afternoon.

We still need one car to drive.  So far we have: Scott - 3, Magnus - 4, Jim J - 6 (two cars 2 & 4) , and Ian 5 which totals 18 kids so we need one more car with room for 3.

Entry fee is $20 per sailor which covers Saturday and Sunday lunches and Sunday breakfast. Since dinner is not provided bring $10 extra cash for that.  Parents can purchase lunch tickets for $5 each.

Also we will be loading boats tomorrow afternoon.  I will work out the best time today at practice and let the team know.

Sailing Team,

First of all, great job today with the fundraiser!  We made 622 dollars!  Thanks to the parents who came out and let us wash your cars. I really appreciate the effort everyone put in to making it a successful event.

Cascadia Cup

Our next regatta is Cascadia Cup next weekend (Sat and Sun) in Seattle at SSP.  The following are signed up: Hailey, Greg, Will, Curran, Lexy, Lainey, Freeman, Liam, Ali, Ondrea, Jack W, Jack T, Riley, Sawyer, Amy, Liam, Elise, Nick, Victoria, Lisa, Miles, Jeffrey, Elsa. This regatta is a lot of fun because we get to race against college kids as well for extra challenge.  It is also a rotational event with A and B divisions.  We will be leaving Saturday morning, and returning Sunday evening.  We will be staying in a large building like last year near the sailing site.  Concrete floors, so don't forget your sleeping pads.

We will need drivers.  Parents, let me know if you can drive.  If you have a big van with room for many that would be great!

See you at practice on Tuesday.
