COST:
Please bring $40 to cover the cost of the hotel.  There is no entry fee, which means you will need money for breakfast, lunch, and dinner both days.

Waiver: Attached.  Please fill this out and email it to me before Friday.
COVID: Vaccination or proof of negative covid test within 72 hours of the regatta.  Please send me this before Friday.

Olympia Details

Here are details for the girls regatta this weekend:

GOING:

DRIVERS (parents of): Bailey (3), Cole (1), Emma (3), Evan (3) - Need another driver with 2 more seats. 

The plan is to leave Bellingham by 7:00am.  Please arrive at the Sehome Haggens parking lot at 6:50 Saturday morning to carpool. We will distribute everyone between the cars and head off.

SCHEDULE: 
SATURDAY - 6:50am meet at Sehome Haggens. DONT BE LATE.
Then head to the racing area at Port Plaza (701 Columbia St NW, Olympia, WA 98501) to rotate and watch racing. 
Racing starts at 10:30
Racing will happen all day and go to about 5pm.  Everyone should pack a lunch for Saturday or there is a farmers market nearby that has good food you can grab for lunch.
After racing the team will likely go grab dinner together so bring money for that. 
Sunday we will return home late after racing, likely around 6-7 depending on traffic.

HOTEL:
We will be staying at a local hotel (Double Tree). We have rooms booked for kids and some chaperones.  Chaperones please let me know if you will be staying with us or on your own.

COST:
Please bring $40 to cover the cost of the hotel and $10 for entry fee.  If you are writing checks please make the hotel check to "Whatcom Sailing" and the entry fee to "Supporters of Olympia Community Sailing"

Chaperones I recommend you bring chairs for sitting on shore watching.

Each competitor must complete an 2021 OYC medical liability waiver HERE

Costumes: There will be a costume contest for this regatta.  Prizes will be given to the team wearing the best costumes.

COVID RULES:

  1. Masks or doubled over gaiters must be worn on shore, in cars, and on the docks at all times. Especially when rotating.

  2. Each competitor must complete a daily medical questionnaire Covid screening

  3. You do not need to wear a mask while racing.

Re: Regatta Updates

A couple things to note about upcoming regattas:
  • For both Olympia and Portland housing is not provided so we will be getting hotel rooms.  There will be a cost for this, likely around $40 per person.  But we do not want this cost to prevent anyone from going so please let me know if this will be an issue for you.
  • For Portland the host is requiring that all participants, coaches, and chaperones are vaccinated OR show a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the regatta.

Re: Cascadia Cup Details

One couple more things:  
  1. We need to load one more boat, so the Saturday team and drivers please arrive at 7:30am at Zuanich Park tomorrow morning instead of Sehome haggens. 
  2. It is getting colder and colder so be sure to bring proper gear, wetsuits, etc.
