Regatta Weekend

Dear Sailing Families-
Team Race Districts is only two weeks out.We are tentatively expecting 200-250 guests.  It's time to get cooking! First, let me thank you so much for anything and everything you are able to contribute to this event.  Here is what I have so far.

Saturday Breakfast will be grab-n-go: Bakers Mini-Breakfast Cookies, Apples, Coffee/Tea/Cream & Sugar. I would also like to serve breakfast sausages.
WE NEED:  A chaffing dish for the sausages, two volunteers (to heat sausages, make coffee, set up breakfast, and prep for lunch).

Saturday Lunch will be a Pasta Bar: Pasta, Red Sauce, White Sauce, Rolls or Garlic Bread, Caesar Salad, Fruit, fun-size candy, water and soda.
WE NEED:  chaffing dish for pasta, two crock pots for sauces, three to four parents to manage cooking and serving and to prep for dinner.  If you are a Costco member and would be willing to shop for this meal or other supplemental supplies, please contact me again to confirm.  I know a couple of parents already made this generous offer.

Saturday Dinner will be Grilled Burgers, baked beans, fruit salad, water and soda, cobbler and ice cream.
WE NEED:  Two Gas Grills, four parents to grill, prep, serve and clean up.  A Sudden Valley parent with a large freezer to store the ice cream until late afternoon.
**FRUIT COBBLER TO SERVE 200**  I am asking that this portion of the menu be provided by parent donation.  If you are unable to volunteer for the event, but would like to contribute, consider baking up a cobbler (or two☺) for the Saturday meal. Please e-mail me your name, the number of servings you will be providing, and your plan for delivering the dish to the regatta.  I'm guessing we will need between 12 and 16 cobblers depending on pan size. Please respond asap to allow time for an alternative should we fall short on cobblers.  Many, many thanks.

Sunday Breakfast will be pancakes, syrup, warm applesauce, sausage (yes, again), coffee/tea/cream & sugar.
WE NEED:  very little ☺   Diane Rehberger and Heather Elsworth have volunteered to flip and flap the jacks so . . . another parent or two to manage the sausage and applesauce, set up breakfast, and prep for lunch.

Sunday Lunch boasts three options:  Potato Bar, Taco Bar, or Cream Cheese/Turkey Bagel Sandwich.  It all depends on parent volunteers.  Let me know your preference and how you can contribute to prep.  Many thanks!
WE NEED:  200 pre-baked potatoes and/or pounds and pounds of pre-cooked ground beef for either of the "Bar" options. We will also need parents to prep, serve, and clean up.

There are many details missing from this first effort, but this will start us on our way. Please don't hesitate to contact me by e-mail  (gkaas@comcast.net) or phone (734-7353/h).  Thank you.  --jo kaas
