Team Ski Trip

Hi sailors!
I know a lot of you expressed interest in a team ski trip up at Baker this season. For dates, Scott and I were thinking either Saturday, Dec 29th or Sunday, Dec 30th. We need to plan for drivers, so if you are interested in coming please respond with the date that works best for you, or if both dates work just let me know that you want to come. If you don't make it known that you are coming there won't be a seat in a car for you, so please do respond! It would also be great if we could get a few parents willing to drive.
Happy holidays!

Sehome / Bellingham Win Hawaii IMU Regatta

Last weekend our Sehome and Bellingham varsity teams traveled to Hawaii for the IMU Regatta.  The Sehome team represented by Miles, Elise, Jack, and Lisa placed 1st overall!  The Bellingham team of Riley and Elsa combined with Jeremy and Andrew from North Kitsap and placed 3rd overall.  2nd place was Athenian from San Francisco who is coached by our friend Andrew Nelson.  There were 10 teams at the regatta, 5 from California, 3 from Hawaii, and our two Northwest teams.  Racing was competitive, but we were always near the front.  Both teams sailed smart and consistent which helped gain them the win.  It was a great regatta all around.  So congrats to the team!  Results are attached.

Regatta Cancelled

Team,

The regatta this weekend has been cancelled.  Not enough teams want to come up.  So that means we are done for the fall season with regattas and Thursday will be our last practice for the fall.

Stay tuned for a couple things: A dinner party at Lexy's house probably next week and we need to move some boats around for winter storage soon.  I will get both scheduled and let you know.

We still need one car to drive.  So far we have: Scott - 3, Magnus - 4, Jim J - 6 (two cars 2 & 4) , and Ian 5 which totals 18 kids so we need one more car with room for 3.

Entry fee is $20 per sailor which covers Saturday and Sunday lunches and Sunday breakfast. Since dinner is not provided bring $10 extra cash for that.  Parents can purchase lunch tickets for $5 each.

Also we will be loading boats tomorrow afternoon.  I will work out the best time today at practice and let the team know.

Sailing Team Car Wash Saturday @ The Public Market

Please forward this announcement to anyone interested.

SAILING TEAM CAR WASH SATURDAY

Please come get your car washed at The Public Market on Cornwall this Saturday from 11am to 4pm to support the Bellingham, Sehome and Squalicum High School Sailing Teams!
The teams will be washing cars rain or shine on Saturday fundraising for travel to regattas, team uniforms, and sailing equipment.  See you Saturday!

For more information about the teams visit www.whatcomsailing.com.

Car Wash Saturday

Team,

Our fundraiser this Saturday, Oct. 13th will be a car wash at The Public Market on Cornwall (1530 Cornwall) from 11:00am-4:00pm.   Everyone please bring sponges, wash clothes squeegies, soap, buckets, etc.  We will be doing the fundraiser rain or shine, so come prepared for either.  Fundraising events are an important and mandatory part of being on the sailing team. We need these funds to be able to go to regattas!  Parents are encouraged to come as well.  And be sure to pass on to friends and family to come by and have their cars washed.  Again, mandatory for everyone on the team, however you may skip the fundraiser by making a $200 donation to the team.

Also, lets all be on the lookout for other fundraising opportunities.  We have discovered recently that the team is good at yard work, so if you know anyone who needs work done around the house like raking leaves, mowing lawns, moving dirt, gravel, etc, let me know and we can schedule a work party.

See you Saturday,

Sunday Sailing

Team,

Since this weekends regatta has been cancelled we are going to have an informal day of sailing out at the lake on Sunday.  It's not mandatory, but anyone who wants to, come at 11:00am and we will do some racing.  Some of the kids from the Bainbridge HS team are coming up as well.  We can race for as long as everyone wants.  But probably not past 5ish.

See you then,

Octoberfest & Club Sport

Sailors,

Next weekend is Octoberfest.  The following are going: Elsa, Miles, Jeffery, Lisa, Victoria, Nick, Elise, Liam, Amy, Sawyer, Riley, Ali, Liam, Lainey, Curran, Will, Greg, Hailey, Jack T, Jack W.

There will be Laser Fleets and FJ fleets and possibly v15 fleets.  I will assume everyone will sail in the FJ fleet unless you tell me otherwise.  If you have a laser you should consider sailing that has many of the other teams are planning to sail lasers and with the numbers we have we will need to bring a lot of FJs.

We will be leaving early Saturday morning and returning Sunday evening.  The cost for the weekend is $30 and additional meal tickets can be purchased for $5.  The cost includes lunches both days and dinner Saturday night.  I be staying the night down in Seattle, likely at Liams Grandpas house.

We will need parents to drive and tow, so let me know if you can do either, and how many kids could fit in your car.

Next topic: Starting Tuesday we are a club sport at each of the three schools. YAY! This is really cool and will come with it some benefits such as: reduced ferry fees when traveling to regattas, ability to receive a varsity letter, some school funding, ability to recruit, and displaying of championship banners when we win!

It also comes with some changes in policy to meet Bellingham School District standards.  Starting Tuesday I will be sent a list before every practice of students eligible to compete.  This will be based on grades, attendance at school that day, and if you are on the bad list or not (for breaking rules). Knowing all of you I'm sure this will not be an issue.  However, if you are not on the list, I can not let you practice.  You will have to sit on shore.   Everyone will need to fill out an athletics packet which includes waivers, get a physical exam, and purchase an ASB card.  Which I am told most of you have already.  I will bring all this stuff to practice on Tuesday for you to take home and fill out.

See you on Tuesday!

DJOD Regatta

Sailors/Parents,

Awesome job by everyone this weekend.  Those were tough conditions but everyone did great!  Thanks to all the parents who drove and helped with loading boats, and to the Johannessens for the coach boat.

This coming weekend is DJOD out on Bellingham Bay.  I have the following signed up so far: Elsa, Miles, Jeffrey, Nick, Elise, Liam H, Amy, Sawyer, Riley G, Ali, Liam D, Freeman, Lainey, Will, Greg, Ondrea, Jack.
I am assuming most everyone will want to sail an FJ or V15, but if you have a personal laser please let me know if you are planning to sail it or not.  Also, if you would like to try a laser let me know and we can find you one.  Otherwise we will put everyone else in a V15 or FJ depending on whats available.

The regatta is both Saturday and Sunday, cost is $35 for lasers and $25 for doublehanded.  Remember this is not just a youth regatta, so parents should consider racing as well if interested.

Let me know if you could host out of town sailors also.

Thanks,

Scott Wilson

More JAM Details

Sailors and Parents,

Sailors please bring entry fee in cash so we can split costs for registration between alternates.  Also bring 15 dollars in cash to contribute to gas and ferry of the car you will be in.  Since we have so many cars going this weekend we should do it this way so we don't use up all the team funds in the first weekend.

LASERS: Miles, Jack, Liam (Sailing MOs Boat), Jeffrey

Opti: Brandon

V15s:
Elise Liam D
Lianey Elsa
Riley Will
Sawyer Nick
Hailey Curran
Vic Lisa

Alternates:
Ali
Freeman
Greg

Drivers and seats:
Scott - 3 - Towing 3 boat trailer with 1 v15 and 2 lasers
John Thompson - 3 - Towing 1 laser
Teresa Werner - 1 - Towing 1 laser
Jason Everett - 4 - Towing 4 v15s
John Holland - 3 - Towing coach boat
Magnus Collander - 3
Tamra Paskus - 3
Halle's - 2

For parents, there is room where we are staying for you to sleep on Saturday night with the team, but you will need to bring sleeping bag, pillow and pad just like the kids.  Also, if you are planning to watch racing I should be able to get everyone on a race committee boat, but they may put you to work.  We will have a coach boat but it will likely be filled with sailors.

If you have any other questions about this weekend please let me know,

JAM Regatta Details

This weekend is JAM.

Here's who I have signed up: Elsa, Miles, Jeffrey, Liam H, Jack, Lisa, Liam D, Hailey, Victoria, Elise, Nick, Sawyer, Riley, Ali, Freeman, Lainey, Curran and Brandon.

The regatta is at the Port Madison Yacht Club on Bainbridge Island and its both Saturday and Sunday.  We will be leaving Saturday morning all together from the Sehome Haggens parking lot.  We will meet at Haggens at 6:30am Saturday morning.  Saturday night the team will be staying with the Greason's (Nates parents from the Bainbridge team).  Bring sleeping bag, pillow, and pad for this.  Sunday we will return in the evening.

For boats here's what I have come up with but this is open to change. It would be most helpful if those with Lasers sailed their lasers or switched with someone sailing a V15.  Since we have so many going it all depends on how many boats I can get.  Right now I have found us 6 boats so far, but I am working on finding one more.

Here's my plan so far:

Sailing there Lasers: Miles, Jack, Liam, Jeffrey (If you would rather sail a V15 arrange to trade with someone sailing a V15 already)

Sailing V15s:
Sawyer, Curran
Lainey, Elsa
Hailey, Elise
Victoria, Lisa
Riley, Will
Freeman, Liam D
Nick, Ali, Greg

Next is transportation for sailors and boats.  From Bellingham we will need to tow 4 lasers and 1 v15.  Jack if we could use your two laser trailer that would be perfect.  We could have 2 lasers on your boat and 2 lasers and 1 v15 on the 3 boat trailer.  We may also need to pick up a trailer of boats in Anacortes.  If so I will arrange one of us to go grab that.

For drivers this weekend I have already heard from some of you, but please email me if you can drive this weekend and how many you could take.

Things to bring: Sleeping bag, pillow, pad, sun screen, all sailing gear for warm and cold, life jacket, entry fee $40 for lasers, $30 for V15, a water bottle, and some cash for gas money and breakfast sunday morning.

Lunches will be provided both days as well as dinner Saturday night.  We might stop for dinner on the way home on Sunday.  Bring any other snacks you want.

If you have questions please let me know.

JAM Regatta

Our first regatta (excluding singlehands this weekend) is JAM on Sep 8th-9th.  Remember attendance at this regatta is required for everyone.  JAM is held at the Port Madison Yacht Club on Bainbridge Island.  It is a Saturday and Sunday regatta.  I will be taking care of registration for everyone, so please email me what you would like to sail, i.e. Laser, Radial, or V15.  If you are new and don't know that's fine, i will help you figure out the best boat for you.  Those without lasers will likely sail a V15 with someone else from the team.  I need to email the regatta organizers with the list of sailors by this Friday to get the early registration discount, so please send me your boat choice ASAP.  I will send more details of the regatta next week.  Attached is the NOR.

Also, fill out the regatta sign up!

Sailing Meeting Recap

Hello Sailors and Parents,

We had our pre-season meeting last night- thank you to all who came! Here is a recap for everyone: (you can find all the forms and most of the information at www.whatcomsailing.com )

EMAIL
Most all our communication is done via email, so please help us out by responding to emails quickly and make sure we have your current email address.

FORMS
All sailors must fill out the forms and checks outlined in the sailor packet (attached).  Make $150 check out to Whatcom Community Sailing and the $35 check out to WWUAA
Returning sailors do not need to fill out the survey or the WWU Alumni Application, but will need to show proof of an alumni membership if you have one already.
Bring these forms with you to the first practice if you have not turned them in already. (or you won't be able to sail!)

PRATICES
Our first practice is Tuesday Sep 4th. We will practice Tues/Thurs 3:15-6:30 till the end of October.  We will be conducting a swim test and capsize drill for all new sailors at the first practice. Please bring a wetsuit, towel and warm clothes.  PARENTS- Please help us by scheduling dentist and doctors appointments around these practices.  Practices are held at Lakewood. If you need a carpool, please contact us and we will put you in touch with another sailor from your school.

We require all sailors to have a Type III Coastguard approved lifejacket, a whistle attached to the life jacket and a wetsuit. There will be days where we will require a wetsuit or you won't be able to sail. We strongly encourage proper gear, such as gloves, booties, and no cotton. On our gear page on the website, we suggest places to buy gear and what kind of gear to get. (Westcoast sailing offers high school students 15% off gear, and free shipping). Please ask us or your fellow sailors what gear we recommend if you have any questions.

8TH GRADERS
Please arrive at practice as soon as possible after school gets out.  8th graders can participate in all regattas on the schedule with the exception of district championships or national events if we qualify.

REGATTAS
Please see our website for a schedule of all regattas. We will be more strict this year about going to regattas (and practices). We won't be accepting 'I have homework' or 'I have a big test' as an excuse. You know all the regattas we plan on attending now, so plan accordingly.

REGATTA SIGN UP - Please fill out this regatta sign up form so we know which events you absolutely can not make.  We expect you to attend all regattas, so if you can not make a regatta please come talk to us so we can discuss why.

PARENTS
We are excited to have your sailor on the team, and will be kept very busy organizing practices, regattas and teaching them how to become awesome racers! So, we will need your help! Regatta travel is usually based on parent drivers. We try to reimburse for gas, and food is usually free or very cheap for the weekend. (Provided by the hosting team). Please take a look at the regatta schedule and make note on which regattas you would be able to drive.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us or visit our website for information. We are excited to be starting another season of sailing! See you on the water!

Re: Pre-Season Meeting / First Regatta

Sailors and Parents,

Just a reminder that tomorrow is our pre-season meeting.  It will be at Lakewood at 6:00pm.  Please bring all the paperwork and money to the meeting so we can get that out of the way. Below is the original email with detail and attached is the sailor packet with forms to fill out.  Remember, all sailors, new and returning, must fill out all the forms in the packet with the exception of the Survey and WWU Alumni application if you have done this already.  Returning sailors must show proof of a WWU Alumni membership.

Also, we are having a small fundraiser tomorrow for anyone that can make it, its not mandatory.  My parents have some work for you to do around their house.  We are meeting there at 12:30 at my parents house (2120 North Shore Dr.).  Here's a map.  Please come if you can.

See you tomorrow!

Sailors and Parents,

PRE-SEASON MEETING

Our pre-season meeting will Monday August 27th, 6:00pm at Lakewood.  We ask that both parents and sailors of new and returning sailors attend this meeting.  We will be going over practice and regatta schedules, travel plans, fundraising, etc. If you know someone interested in joining the team, this would be a good meeting for them to attend, so pass this along.  For a head start on the meeting go to our website, www.whatcomsailing.com.  Fall schedule and forms are posted.

At the meeting please bring your team dues for the year and all paperwork.  Attached you will find all the paperwork that is needed.  All sailors, new and returning, must fill out all the forms in the packet with the exception of the Survey and WWU Alumni application if you have done this already.  Lots of forms and waivers to fill out and sign I realize, but please do this in advance and bring them to the meeting so we can be done with it.

Dues are $150 for the year.  Make checks payable to Whatcom Community Sailing.  There is also a $35 dollar fee for a WWU Alumni membership.  Each sailor must have their own individual membership.  If you have this already please provide proof, either alumni card, receipt, etc.  If you need to purchase the membership, fill out the form and bring a check for $35 made out the WWUAA.  Please bring checks to this meeting.

Directions to Lakewood can be found here.

FIRST PRACTICE WILL BE:  TUESDAY SEP 4TH, 3:15 at Lakewood

FIRST REGATTA

Our first regatta is Singlehanded Champs down at the Gorge in Cascade Locks, OR.  The regatta is Sep 1st and 2nd, we will be leaving Friday Aug 31 in the afternoon and returning Sunday late.  We will be camping in tents. This regatta is for those comfortable sailing lasers in heavy wind. Please let me know ASAP if you plan to attend this regatta.  Tell me: when you can leave on Friday, can your parent drive, do you have a laser or would you need a charter, do you have a tent and how many could it hold?

One last thing: Please fill out the regatta signup on the website also!

Thanks and see you soon,

Junior Olympics

Hi sailors! As of now it is looking like we don't have enough people with an interest in Junior Olympics or a place to stay. We also don't have a way to transport enough boats for everyone.

The next regatta coming up is singlehands at the gorge on September 1st and 2nd.

Junior Olympics

Hi sailors! First of all, awesome job to everyone who went to McCurdy Cup! With tiebreakers, varsity came in 3rd and junior varsity was fifth. Things went very smoothly with no coaches, so thanks to everyone for being organized and sailing fast!

This weekend is junior olympics at Seattle Yacht Club. There is a laser class which I know some people are planning on participating in. I also emailed Brian Ledbetter from SYC to find out if there is the possibility of sailing vanguards. Either way, we should have quite a few people going down to sail lasers who will need drivers and a place to stay. I will most likely be going and can drive five, including myself. There is also a clinic at SYC on friday to help sailors learn about the tricky current at shilshole. I think it would be really good for everyone going to the regatta to also try to attend the clinic. If we do that we would leave friday morning or afternoon and return sunday evening. More details about the regatta and the clinic can be found here in the NOR: http://www.nwyrc.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012-Junior-Olympics-Notice-of-Race-and-Registration.pdf

This email is mostly to gauge who wants to attend the regatta and the clinic, if we have any potential drivers, and if anyone knows of a place to stay. I apologize for how last minute it is, and I hope that we can still have a good turnout! I will send out another email as soon as I get a response from Brian Ledbetter regarding the vanguards. For now, it would be great if anyone interested emailed or called me so I can answer any questions and start planning. My phone number is (360) 325-2632.

Pre-Season Meeting / First Regatta

Scott Wilson

Also, we need help with food prep and distribution on Saturday and Sunday.  Please contact Andrea Hood - andrea@openaccess.org to help.

HS Sailing Team Boat Cleaning Fundraiser July 29th

Bellingham Sailors,

July 29th the high school sailing team will be having its annual boat cleaning fundraiser.  The team will be down at the marina most of the day on Sunday the 29th washing boats.  If you have a job for them cleaning, polishing, waxing, please sign up and support the team.
http://www.whatcomsailing.com/fundraising.html

About the team
The high school sailing team is made up of high schoolers from all over whatcom county, especially Sehome, Bellingham, and Squalicum high schoools.  The team competes in high school regattas all over the west coast and is ranked one of the top teams in the northwest.  This last year the team placed 2nd in the Team Racing District Championships and 3rd in the Fleet Racing District Championships.  This fundraiser is the teams main fundraiser and goes towards travel to these regattas, boat maintenance, gas, and ferry costs.

What will they do?
The team will be cleaning, scrubbing, polishing, waxing, buffing, you name it!  Whatever you want us to do we will do it, provided it is within our abilities.  A likely job will be scrubbing the boat deck, but we could do more detailed polishing and waxing jobs.  We will not be doing bottom scrubbing or anything dangerous and beyond our capabilities.

When
July 29th, 9am to 2pm.  All jobs will be scheduled during this time.  We will contact you after you sign up and arrange for the best time.

Cleaning Supplies
We will be using our own generic cleaning or polishing equipment, but if you have something specific you would like us to use please provide it and list when filling out the form.

Cost
This fundraiser is based on donations.  We are recommending a donation of $10 per kid per hour.  These kids are experts at scrubbing boats so this is a great deal.

To sign up Cick here. After you sign up we will contact you to arrange details. Sign up soon!

For more information email whatcomsailing@gmail.com or call 360.303.1759.

Thank you for your support,

Upcoming Regattas

Boat Cleaning Fundraiser
First and most important, our boat cleaning fundraiser will be July 29th 9am-2pm.  Please put this on your calendar and plan on attending.  Everyone is required to participate in fundraising so we have money to go to regattas. Pass the word on to people you know who own boats down at the marina.  People can sign up to have their boats cleaned on our website here: http://www.whatcomsailing.com/fundraising.html

Bellingham Youth Regatta
The next youth circuit regatta will be here in Bellingham August 11th-12th.  It is the Bellingham Youth Regatta hosted by the BYC.  Everyone on this email list should attend this regatta!  NOR and Registration are now up on the regatta website.  This regatta will have multiple fleets, Lasers, Radials, FJs, Optis and hopefully more.  Contact Megan Link (byc.junior.sailing@gmail.comto use a BYC FJ, Laser or Opti for this event.  Register soon for the event.  Also, we need a t-shirt design for the regatta, so design something and send it to me.

McCurdy Cup
The McCurdy Cup (team racing) is August 18-19 this year down at SYC again.  We should send at least 2 teams from Bellingham this year.  The event is open to everyone with a junior division 20 and under and masters division.  Here is the NOR http://www.seattleyachtclub.org/files/2012%20McCurdy%20NOR.pdf.  Read it over and let me know soon if you would like to attend.  Registration is open to 16 teams only.

Boat Cleaning Fundraiser

Team,

We need to schedule our boat cleaning fundraiser.  I have 3 days that could work but need to determine everyone's availability.  The proposed dates are July 22, July 28, and July 29.  Everyone, please email me soon which of these days you can make.

Also, it sounds like we have a good group going to WIND.  I have heard Jack, Ben, Miles, Riley, and Robyn will be going to the WIND clinic, with Jeffery and Riley Allsop joining them at the WIND regatta.  The rest of you should consider going as well.  Let me know if you need a boat.  Good luck.

Also, Tuesday night racing is awesome lately!  I have counted about 14 boats racing in the last few weeks.  If you are not out racing Lasers on Tuesday night you should be!

Opti Summer Racing

Sailors and Sailors Parents,

We are starting a new opti racing program this summer run by the Bellingham Yacht Club and Whatcom Sailing.  Details of the program are still being worked out but I wanted to see what the interest is at this point and go from there.  Likely the program would consist of Tuesday night practices in Optis down off Zuanich dock run by the Bellingham Yacht Club coaches.  The practices would be tailored more towards racing than learning to sail and would last 2-3 hours.  On weekends the "team" would attend youth circuit regattas locally and around the state.  Attendance and coaching at these regattas would be done by Whatcom Sailing coaches (primarily myself with assistance from high school sailors).  I am estimating the program will cost around $200-$300 for the summer, with scholarship money available.  The schedule of regattas would look something like this:

June 30th - Bellingham Opti Regatta (Bham)
July 28th-29th-  Gorge Opti Regatta (Cascade Locks, OR)
Aug 11-12 - Bellingham Youth Regatta (Bham)
Aug 25-26 - Junior Olympics (Seattle, WA)
Sep 8-9 - JAM (Port Madison, WA)
Sep 29-30 - Octoberfest (Seattle, WA)

So who should participate?  Any youth sailors 7-13 years old with an interest in racing.  We will require that sailors have taken at least one learn to sail class before joining the team.  Sailors do not need to be experts, beginners are expected and racing is a great way to learn to sail better.  If you are not sure if this program is right for your kid please email me or call and we can discuss.

If this sounds like something your kid would be interested in doing please email me with the following information: Sailors name, your contact email and phone, sailors age, experience, and school grade.
Soon after I will schedule a meeting for those interested to go over details.

ALSO, if your kid is not of Opti age and not on the high school team already but is interested in racing this summer in youth regattas in lasers, fjs, etc, please also email me so I can put you on our email list.  I will be organizing that age group also to attend the same youth regattas.  There is laser racing Tuesday night on the bay which I would highly recommend.

Email or call if you have any questions.  Thanks,

Tuesday Night Racing

Team,

Don't forget to dust off your lasers and head out for Tuesday night racing on the bay tomorrow.  Racing starts at 6:00pm.  You can either launch your boat at the main boat launch, or keep it on the dinghy dock.  You can download sailing instructions and registration forms here: http://sailfleet.byc.org/ .   If you don't have a boat ask around to see if you can borrow one.  Hope to see everyone out there!

Last Practice Thursday / Junior Scow Regatta

Two announcements:

On Thursday we have our last practice of the season and we have a special guest coach.  Jonathan McKee is coming up to coach just our team.  This is very cool as Jonathan is a professional sailor with lots of experience.  He has: won a dozen national champhionships, multiple world championships, 1 Olympic Gold medal, 1 olympic bronze medal, college all american sailor, raced in the Americas Cup, Volvo Ocean race, Mini Transat, Bermuda World Race, and probably more I don't know about or forgetting.  He's quite good.  So, plan on making it to practice Thursday and if you can come early to rig boats that would give you more time with him coaching rather than wasting time rigging.  Come with questions!  And be thankful because he is making a special trip up just for you guys and he leaves the next day for Austria to race RC44's!

Second Announcement:

The Junior scow regatta is being held on June 2nd.  This is a great event and something you should all take part in.  The fleet is offering their boats to you to race so find a pair or singlehand and go scow racing.  Below is the schedule and contact information.

The schedule of events for the Junior Regatta is as follows:

Saturday, June 2

  • 0900-1000 Registration.
  • 1000 Competitors' Briefing Meeting on Lawn in front of the Fleet 84 Clubhouse.
  • The Race Committee is planning for two (2) short practice races prior to starting the first official race.  The Warning Signal for the first practice Race will be at 1100.  The Warning Signal for Race 1 (the first official Race) will be at approximately 1130.  Additional race(s) will follow immediately after the completion of Race 1 at the discretion of the Race Committee.
  • 1300-1400 Lunch break ashore.  Bring your own lunch.
  • 1430 warning signal for remaining races.  A total of 8 races will be completed at the discretion of the Race Committee.

·         1630 - NO RACE WILL START AFTER 1630 hours.

Registration Forms, Liability Release Forms, and Sailing Instructions will follow within the next several days.  Racers 18 years and younger are eligible.

Practice Tomorrow MEET AT MARINA

For practice tomorrow we will be meeting at the TD Curran parking lot to unload a few boats real quick before we head back to lakewood for practice.  The TD Curran lot is just on the left as you head in towards the BYC.  It is across from LFS if that helps.  Please arrive at 3:00pm so we can quickly get the boats unloaded and then head back to lakewood for sailing.  Please arrange carpools down there.  8th graders, you can still plan on heading to Lakewood after school, I expect we will be able to unload the boats and get back to Lakewood about the same time you get there.

Boats

Hey team,

Nationals was great, I will tell you all about it at practice.  But first I need to go down and get 2 of our boats which are still down in Seattle.  Mallory and I brought back 6 of them this evening, but we left 2 for tomorrow evening.  I am hoping I could get a couple of you who aren't too busy to drive down with me, load 2 boats on a trailer, and then drive back.  I know this sounds like the most amazing evening ever, but I will buy blizzards for you if you come!  Email me if you could possibly help me out.
