Tomorrow

Sailors,

A couple things for tomorrow.  Entry fee is $30 dollars.  Be at lakewood at by 8am.  Everyone should bring sailing gear as you will be either sailing or potentially out on a race committee boat where it could be wet also.  Since this is districts not everyone will get to sail, but some rotations will happen.  Come ready to sail, help, and support your team.

Get lots of sleep tonight, its a long day of sailing tomorrow.

Districts This Weekend - Help needed

Doublehanded Districts are this weekend so we have lots to do to get ready.

First, to the PARENTS:  I still need some families to host teams this weekend.  Please let me know if you can.  So far I have teams staying with the Hoods, Chambers, Thompsons, Johannessens, and Collanders.  Who else could host a team?

Andrea Hood is organizing food for this weekend, email her if you can help (andrea@openaccess.org)
AND, sign up for helping using the form she sent out: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0D49ACAF29A64-district/8994784

If you want to help with race committee let me know also.

Everyone please plan on arriving at 8am Saturday morning to help set up.

Sailors plan on meeting at lakewood after school on Friday also to help get ready.  We need to organize mark boats, sail boats, sails, bow numbers, marks, etc.  This weekend we will have 3 teams racing for Sehome, Bellingham, and Squalicum with some alternates.  Not everyone will get to sail, but I would like everyone to come help and support your team.

Cost for this weekend will be $30 per sailor.  Included is breakfast, lunch, dinner, breakfast, lunch.

Thanks,

Portland

For Portland this weekend we have the following going:  Shea W, Victoria, Jack T, Jeffrey, Liam H, Lisa and Riley.  I am limiting the number going this weekend based on transportation and lodging.  Sorry I couldn't bring everyone who wanted to go.  For those going, please email me what time you can leave on Friday.  I would like to leave right after school so we miss rush hour traffic as much as possible.  Entry fee is $20 dollars which includes lunch, dinner, and snacks on sat and breakfast, lunch, and snacks on Sunday.  Also, please fill out the waiver here and bring friday: http://nwisa.hssailing.org/documents/2012-2013-nor/WSC_TR_NOR_-_2013.pdf

See you all tomorrow at practice.  The next weeks of practice will be very important as we are getting closer to district championships.

Parents / Sailors,

Lots of important info in this email, so please read and respond.

SILVERDALE REGATTA TOMORROW

We have drivers Scott 1(4), Scott 2 (6), Mallory (4), Magnus (4), and Chris (4).  Entry fee is $5.  See you at 5:45 tomorrow morning, please be on time or we will leave without you.  And bring the attached waiver signed.

PORTLAND REGATTA NEXT WEEKEND

Next weekend is a regatta in Portland.  All sailors please let me know if you would like to go or not.  Email me either way by tonight.

FLEET DISTRICTS PLANNING MEETING

This coming Monday at 6pm we will be having a parent meeting to plan the fleet race district champs we are hosting in 2 weeks.  We will meet at my house 720 11th St. #B2.  We will discuss race committee, food, and housing.  Please plan on coming if you can help out in any way.

HOUSING FOR DISTRICTS

We need to provide housing for about 15 teams in two weeks for the district champs we are hosting. The teams will be smaller, 4-8 kids per team, and all they need is a floor to crash on and a place to shower. If you have couches or beds, even better.  Most will need housing Friday and Saturday nights.  Nothing else is required of you except a place for them to sleep and bathroom/shower.  Let me know if you are willing to host a team.

Thanks,

Great job to the team this weekend at Island Cup, especially the team of Jack, Lisa, Liam and Elsa for placing 2nd overall out of 28 teams. Attached is a photo of the winning team with their trophy.

This coming weekend we are heading down to Silverdale for a one day regatta.  We need to be there around 8:30 which means we should take the 7:50 edmonds ferry.  So lets plan on meeting at Sehome Haggens bright and early at 5:45 Saturday morning.  Racing will go to 5, so we should be back in bellingham around 8 ish.

Entry fee is $5 dollars which gives you lunch.  You should plan on packing your own breakfast Saturday morning and some extra cash for snacks/dinner Saturday on our way back.  We will not stop, but you can buy something on the ferry or while we are waiting for the ferry.  If we need to rent a van I will add $5 to the entry fee.  Also, if you write a check, please make the check out to Whatcom Community Sailing and not me.

SAILORS: I will assume everyone wants to go this weekend unless I hear from you, so please email me if you can't go.

PARENTS: We will need drivers for this weekend, please let me know if you can drive and how many you can hold.

Attached is the waiver for you to sign bring Saturday.

Thanks,
