Pumpkin Bowl

Sailors,

First of all, great job to everyone this weekend at Cascadia Cup.  Everyone did great.  Results are at nwisa.hssailing.org.

Next weekend is Pumpkin Bowl.  This regatta is up at West Vancouver Yacht Club in BC.  This regatta is optional and only for those who want to try something new.  I have heard from Miles and Riley who plan to sail their 29er, and Jeffrey and Liam who would like to sail a 420.  I was able to get us four 420 charters, so we have room for 6 more sailors if you would like to race.  The 420 is a fun boat that can be sailed with a spinnaker or without.  The downside to this regatta is the cost.  The entry fee is $100 canadian and the charter fee is also $100.  Fees include lunch on Saturday and Sunday, Saturday dinner for competitors and a regatta t-shirt.

If you would like to go please email me by tomorrow at 4pm.  I need to let them know if we will take the charters or not.

Thanks,

Cascadia Cup

Our next regatta is Cascadia Cup this weekend (Sat and Sun) in Seattle at SSP.  The following are going: Liam H, Elise, Mallory, Nick, Miles, Courtney, Liam M, Benj, Chase, Ali, Zach, Ben, Lexy, Riley, Will, Ondrea, Ian, Jeffrey, Maia, Sophia, Johnny, Sawyer, Jack, Jacob. We will be leaving Saturday morning, and returning Sunday evening, just like Octoberfest.  We will be staying at Liam's Grandpas house again.  Bring sleeping pads, bags and pillows.

Entry fee is $15/ sailor.  Entry fee includes lunches both days.  We will be on our own for dinner Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning.  So bring extra cash for each of these meals.

We will meet at the Sehome haggens at 7am on Saturday morning and carpool from there.  We need parent drivers.  Right now we have myself, Ray, and Steve driving.  So we need a lot more seats.  PARENTS - Let me know if you can drive.

Congrats to Lily and Robyn!

Sailors, Parents, Alumni and Friends,

I am very excited to announce that both Lily Grimshaw and Robyn Lesh, past Sehome High School sailors, have each qualified for the College Sailing ICSA Singlehanded National Championships.  Robyn and Lily and 16 other girls from around the country will race against each other in Newport Rhode Island November 8-10.  Lily Grimshaw, a senior sailing for the University of Washington, qualified by winning the Northwest Singlehanded District Championship a few weeks ago in Bellingham.  Robyn Lesh, a sophomore sailing for MIT, qualified this past weekend by placing 6th in the New England District Championships in Boston. Both are studying engineering. Good luck to both of them at Nationals!!

Car Wash Saturday

Team,

Our fundraiser is this Saturday, Oct. 5th and will be a car wash at The Public Market on Cornwall (1530 Cornwall) from 11:00am-4:00pm.   Everyone please bring sponges, wash clothes squeegies, soap, buckets, etc.  We will be doing the fundraiser rain or shine, so come prepared for either.  Fundraising events are an important and mandatory part of being on the sailing team. We need these funds to be able to go to regattas!  Parents are encouraged to come as well.  And be sure to pass on to friends and family to come by and have their cars washed.

See you Saturday,
