Team Race Districts Details

This coming weekend is team race districts in Silverdale.

The team going: Liam, Elise, Jeffrey, Miles, Riley, Zach, Cameron, Nick, Will, Courtney, Benj, Sawyer, Sophia, Cailin, Chase, Ali.

Entry fee will be $30 per sailor.  Plus $5 for van rental if needed and $5 for ferry costs.  

We will be leaving Friday afternoon ideally around 5pm, but we can adjust this time if needed.  Returning Sunday evening.  Staying in housing provided.  Sleeping on floors, so bring sleeping bag, pad, pillow, etc.

Sehome Sailing Team wins NW Championship

I'm very proud to announce that your local Sehome high school sailing team just won the NW District Championships this weekend and will head to San Diego in two weeks to compete for the National Championships.  The team beat 16 other northwest teams from Washington and Oregon after 28 hard fought races down in Anacortes.  

The team was lead by skippers Miles Johannessen, a senior, and Liam Hood, a sophomore.  Both skippers sailed very fast with consistently good finishes.  Their crews consisted of senior Elise Chambers, and sophomores Riley Allsop, Shea Walker, and Jeffrey Werner.  Nearly all of these sailors went through one of the local learn to sail programs at the Bellingham Yacht Club or WWU Lakewood.

The team will now head to San Diego for nationals and race against 18 teams from around the country.  The team will be holding fundraisers to pay for the trip over the next two weeks, so look for an opportunity to help them out.

Re: Anacortes Regatta Details

Here are the finalized plans for this weekend:  
Team: Elise, Shea, Jeffrey, Riley, Liam, Miles, Courtney, Sawyer, Benj, Ali

Saturday Morning: Meet at Sehome Haggens at 8:00AM.  Scott and Amy driving down.  Ali will meet us down there and need a ride from the ferry.
Saturday Evening: Scott and Hoods driving back.  Jeffrey staying.
Sunday: Scott, Christine, Jim, and Hoods driving down and back.  (Jim, I will still be letting you know which vehicle is needed)

Please remember $30 entry fee.  And bring the waivers which are part of the link below.

Eat a big dinner and get lots of sleep tonight!

Anacortes Regatta Details

This weekend is fleet race districts in Anacortes.  The team going will be Elise, Shea, Jeffrey, Riley, Liam, and Miles from Sehome, and Courtney, Sawyer, Benj, Ondrea, and Ali from Squalicum.  

Because the regatta is not far away, we will not be spending the night.  

Saturday we will meet at the Sehome Haggens at 8:00AM.  We will return Saturday evening after racing and dinner.

Entry fee is $30 per person.  This includes lunches both days, dinner Saturday, and breakfast Sunday.

Island Cup Details

Tomorrow, meet at Sehome haggens at 7am. Bring waiver.

Clarification on entry fee:  The total entry fee is $35.  This covers everything, racing and food.

The revised team for this weekend:
Sawyer, Miles, Riley, Fanny, Shea, Ali, Courtney, Benj, Noah, Cailin, Zach, Cameron, Nick, Alex, Logan, Jacob, Elise, Liam H, Mallory

Cameron arriving separate, Liam, Mallory, and Elise coming Sunday only, Alex only sailing Saturday.

Drivers

Beverly Arnold- 4 kids
Christine Griffin- 4 kids
Dan Kelsh- 2 kids (Sat only)
Steve Hood - 3 kids (Sunday only with Elise?)

DETAILS:
Schedule:
Sat 7am meet at Sehome haggens.
Take 9:25 ferry to Lopez
First race starts at 1100 am

Saturday night we will be sleeping on the local high school gym floor.   Parent drivers are welcome to stay there as well or you can arrange your own accommodations.

Sunday racing ends at 2:30 followed by awards, packing up and leaving.  Hopefully back by 7pm.

Entry Fee: $35 per person
$30 per team.  We will have 4 teams so please bring $5 dollars for entry.  There is also food provided for the weekend for $30 per person.  This is optional, but it is really your only option, so plan on bringing $30 for this as well.  It covers breakfast, lunch and dinner on Sat and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.  The meals are typically pretty good at this event.  

BRING: All standard sailing gear plus clothes for two days, toothbrush and such, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, pillow, towel, entry fee, and waiver.  

DRIVERS: As always drivers are needed.  So far we have:
Scott - 5, Beverly - 6  Please let me know if you can drive.
