Ski to Sea Boat Moving

Team,

Today after school we need to move some of our boats to clear space for the Ski to Sea race.  PLEASE come help.  If we can get most of the team it will only take about 20 minutes.

Thanks,

Misc Whatcom Sailing

Thank you everyone for a fabulous season and your help making this last regatta such a smash success.  Here are a few misc items for the future.

I'm also curious if there are people interested in participating in the Summer Series

Whatcom Sailing T-Shirts
Please bring $25 to practice if you have not yet paid for your Whatcom Sailing shirt or Venmo me @Sara-Welsh-1
If you would like a shirt and did not order one, please let me know, we have a few people who might be interested in a reprint.

Wednesday Night Racing
The CBC hosts Wednesday Night Racing weekly during the summer, if this is something you are interested in participating in you can register here.  The code : WWUU4Y499 will get you 50% off.

US Sailing Clinic
We will be hosting a Junior Women's Clinic July 2-3.  You can register here if interested.  I may be able to help find charter boats if you do not have access to one.

Just to clarify, we will be having our normal practices this week, and in addition some days may be combined practices for extra fun.

RC Help Needed

We have had 3 race committee volunteers inform us they tested positive and aren't able to come this weekend.  We could use more help on the water.  Looking for someone to either drive a mark boat or be the assistant in the mark boat moving marks.  Please let me know if you can help.  Thanks,

Subject: Fleet Districts - Important Updates

Updates for this weekends regatta:
SIs, Revised NORs,  and Rule 42 Guidance attached

Silver Fleet has moved to Zuanich
We will now be running both regattas out of the Zuanich Park area.  Sorry if this messes up anyone's plans, but it had to be done for better rotations. See revised NOR attached.

Many kids still need to register
Please make sure they do this today.

Boat / Trailer Staging
The back parking spots at the boat ramp have been reserved for boats and trailers for both Friday and Saturday nights.  All fjs will be stored here Saturday night, except for my boats already on Zuanich dock.

Saturday Morning Changing
The bathrooms at Zuanich are small or porta-potties.  Another option for changing in the morning will be the downstairs of the BYC.  We will have that open in the morning.  Use the side door downstairs.

Rig Tuning
For boats in Gold fleet, please make sure your boats are rigged properly per the instructions Haley emailed yesterday. Rusty Lhamon will be the rig master for Saturday morning.  All teams bringing boats must check in with him before launching to confirm proper rigging.

Report Time
Report time has been moved up to 9:00am.  See schedule below and in NOR for directions on where to report.  If  you think you will need more time to get your boats launched arrive earlier.

Schedule:

Saturday, May 14

0900

Report time and final registration.  Teams bringing boats shall report to the Squalicum Marina ramp for rigging. Those teams shall rig and sail to the Zuanich Dock. All other teams shall report to the Zuanich Point Park for registration and competitors' meeting.

1000

Mandatory competitors' meeting at Zuanich Park   & registration ends.

1030

First warning; sailing will continue throughout the day.

Sunday, May 15

0930

Report time at Zuanich Park dock.  Teams storing boats at the Squalicum Ramp will need to rig boats there and sail them to the Zuanich dock by this time.

1030

First warning; sailing will continue throughout the day.

1530

No race will be started after this time.

Results and awards presentation will begin as soon as possible after boats are derigged at Zuanich Park.

District Champs

Team,

Next weekend we are hosting the final regatta of the season, Fleet Race District Champs. At the end of this email are the team assignments for the weekend.  The regatta is a two day event, both Saturday and Sunday plus setup which will happen this week and likely Friday.  The NOR for the event is here.  This is the final district regatta of the season with the top two teams qualifying for nationals.  Only one team per school is allowed at district championship events.  Parents, I will be sending another email soon with details on help needed.

OUR TEAM SCHEDULE: I would like our team to arrive at 9:00 on Saturday and Sunday rather than 9:30 for everyone else to help get boats rigged.  Please report to either Zuanich or the Community Boating Center depending on which fleet you are in below.

REGISTRATION: We need all sailors to register for the regatta by filling out this form and paying the $20 entry fee: https://form.jotform.com/whatcomsailing/nwisa-2022-fleet-districts
Please complete this registration right away.
