I have already lost 3 drivers and 15 seats.  Who else can drive and when can you leave?  Anders, Malone, Brunzell, Boydstun all signed up originally.  Can you still drive?

Unfortunately the ferry is operating on a temporary schedule and not taking reservations.  Which means the ferry will be loaded on a first come first serve basis.  The ferry most teams are trying to make is the 9 am ferry.  First race will be delayed until this ferry arrives.  So to ensure you are on this ferry I think the cars will need to be at the ferry dock by 7:30 maybe earlier. I just dont know how full it is these days.  If any of the drivers think you should leave earlier let me know.

The team will be staying at the Jones' cabin this weekend.  It will be floor sleeping so bring the usual sleeping gear.

Boat Work

This weekend the WWU team is doing boat work both Saturday and Sunday from 1-4.  It would be good for our team to help them and also do some work on the BYC boats.  Please try to come down at least one of the days.  We will be doing fiberglass repairs, gelcoat work, general boat cleanup, etc.  It will be a good opportunity to learn how to work on boats.

Thanks,

Regatta Updates

Great job by everyone over the weekend.  Highlights: The Sehome girls placed 3rd at Girls Champs and Jack and Wyatt placed 2nd at DJOD beating most of the WWU sailing team!

This coming weekend is singlehanded (laser) champs down at the Gorge.  The team going is Mira, Jack, Natalie S, and Emma.  There were others signed up, so if you aren't on this list and really want to go lets talk tomorrow at practice.  Everyone else gets a weekend off!

The following weekend we host a one day regatta on Oct 6 for the North region.  I will need everyone to help at this one including a few parents to help with race committee, registration, logistics.  We will not need to house teams or provide food at this event.  More details to come.

Bellingham Regatta Details

This weekend we are hosting our own regatta.  This is a team race regatta which is the back up qualifier for team race districts.  This regatta is only open to one varsity team per school.  Unfortunately the Bellingham and Squalicum teams did not have enough to fill a team this weekend so we will only have one Sehome team.  That team will be Lera, Cedric, Emma, Natalie S, Mallory, Peyton with alternates Alejandro, Casey, and Leila.

If some of you want to come down and watch or help with race committee you are welcome to.

For those sailing and helping please arrive down at 8:30 to start unloading and rigging our boats.

Entry fee is $10, please bring to registration Saturday morning and Judy Powell who is taking care of registration will collect your money.

We are launching boats at Squalicum Marina and then sailing them over to Zuanich Park.  Registration and competitors meeting will be at Zuanich Park.

Regatta Help and other Sailing Announcements

1. We are hosting a regatta in less than two weeks down on the bay. April 21-22.  I could use helpers for food, registration, and race committee.  Please let me know if you can help.

2.  For the regatta we will need to house teams that come to our regatta.  Some will need housing Friday night, but most will only need housing Saturday.  All they need is a big floor to crash on.  You do not need to provide them anything other than the floor space.  Please let me know if you can offer up your home to a team.

3. Team yearbook pictures will be this Thursday at practice.  I will bring pinnies, but bring any other team gear you have and comb your hair.
