COVID Vaccines

 Lots of appointments on Saturday.

Dear high school families,

As you know, all adults and people over 16 years old are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. We are writing to announce a special vaccination clinic for Bellingham Public Schools students 16 years of age or older and their adult household members.

Our generous neighbors in the Lummi Nation, with assistance from the National Guard, are hosting this COVID-19 vaccination clinic for our older students and the adult members of their households on Saturday, May 1.

Here are the details about this vaccination clinic:

When: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. this Saturday, May 1

Location: Ferndale High School Gym, 5830 Golden Eagle Dr, Ferndale, WA 98248

Registration: Appointments are scheduled online by filling out this form. For anyone under the age of 18, this online appointment registration must be completed by a parent or guardian.

Eligible Participants: Bellingham Public Schools students 16+ years of age with a signed consent form and the adult members of their households. There are currently 800 appointments available. To receive the vaccine, students must have in hand a consent form signed by a parent or guardian.  The vaccination provider would prefer that a parent/guardian is present if possible, but it is not required.

Vaccination Type: Pfizer (Pfizer Fact Sheet for Recipients and Caregivers)

COVID-19 vaccines are available at no cost (free) to everyone in the U.S. regardless of citizenship status and a social security number is NOT required. You will be asked for insurance information in the sign up form, however, it is not required and you may indicate "no insurance" if you do not have health insurance.

Second Doses: Will be administered on or around May 22, with more details published before that date.

We are incredibly thankful to the Lummi Nation for making available this opportunity to protect more members of our community.

Please contact Angie Ritchey with any questions at angie.ritchey@bellinghamschools.org.

If this clinic does not work for your family, PeaceHealth is offering vaccine appointments at St. Joseph's Medical Center - Health Education Center that can be reserved online or by calling 833-375-0285 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Team Race Districts in Olympia

Next weekend is Team Race Districts in Olympia.  We have decided that only the Sehome team will be attending as we feel the available Bellingham sailors do not yet have enough team racing experience to make this event worthwhile.  The Sehome team going will be Keller, Natalie, Bailey, Tristan, Mike, Keagan.  I will send a separate email to just the Sehome team with details tomorrow.
