Great Work Today!

A big thank you to everyone who came out today and helped work on the boats.  We had around 25 people show up which was very helpful.

Tomorrow we need to do just a little more work, mostly moving boats around.  We will be meeting at the storage unit at 2 pm tomorrow.  Should only need to do about 2 hours work.  Please come if you can so we have plenty of muscle to lift boats.

Thanks,

Work Party Tomorrow

Just a reminder that tomorrow we are having our work party.  We will be meeting at 9am at the storage unit where the boats are being kept.  The storage unit is located at the Squalicum Lofts unit 117.  The address is 905 Squalicum Pkwy Bellingham, WA 98225 and the unit is around back.  There are many jobs that need to be done so everyone will have something to do.  Please come prepared to get messy, wear work clothes you don't mind getting glue and paint on.  We will be working all day Saturday and Sunday also depending on how much we get done.

Please come help out for as long as you can.  Bring white clean rags also if you have some lying around the house..

See you tomorrow.

Boat Maintenance Work Party

FJ Work Party

This weekend we are having a work party to repair the 7 BYC FJ's.  They have some bumps and bruises that need to be fixed before the spring season so we are going to try to fix them all this weekend.  Please please come help out.  We will be meeting on Saturday morning at 9am at the storage unit where the boats are being kept. The BYC is letting us use these boat this season for practically nothing, so it is very important that we help take care of them and that you guys come and put in some time working.

Jeff Mixdorf

On February 4th and 5th there is a college team race regatta hosted by the WWU team at Lakewood.  They have invited you guys to come and race with them.  If you are interested in team racing that weekend you should talk to each other, put together a team, and then let me know.  It should be a lot of fun.

Pre-Season Meeting

Finally, I have scheduled our Pre-Season meeting for Wednesday Feb 22nd at 6pm at Lakewood.  Everyone must attend this meeting, so mark it on your calendars.  If there is a major conflict that affects many of you please let me know so I can change the day.  We need everyone there so you can hear major announcements and we can get your input on various ideas we have.

Hope to see you all this weekend!

Rose Bowl Recap

Rose Bowl Recap

The team of Robyn, Elsa, Miles, Ben, Riley, and Elise did a great job this last weekend at the Rose Bowl regatta in Long Beach.  The team placed 4th overall in a fleet of 32 boats.  They were in the silver fleet and were the only team not from California.  The wind was fairly light all weekend, and it was sunny and warm most of the time.  Miles, Elise, Riley, and Ben did especially good in B fleet with 6 top 5 finishes.  They placed 2nd overall in B fleet.  Robyn and Elsa picked up a 1st and 2nd in the tougher A fleet as well.  Full results for Silver Fleet can be found here: http://www.uscsailing.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/12RBSILV6.txt

When we were down there it was great to run into Lily Grimshaw and Katie Davis.  They were racing in the college division with their teams, University of Washington and Cal Poly.

The spring season is just around the corner.  I would highly recommend you start getting in shape now so you are ready when practice starts.  Do your sit-ups, push-ups, lift weights, run, etc.

See you soon,
