Boat Cleaning Tomorrow

Sailing Team,

 

Our boat cleaning fundraiser is tomorrow.  We will be meeting in front of Gate 3 (by the BYC) at 8:45a.m. Please bring a bucket, sponge or scrubber, and a hose.  Label your stuff. Family and friends are welcome to come help out also! Dress for getting wet, and bring water and a lunch.  We will wash boats till 2pm.  If you know anyone who wants their boat washed but hasn't signed up, have them email me.  Alumni or parents should come help supervise!

Fundraiser

Based on your responses Aug 23rd from 9am-2pm works for the most people to have our boat cleaning fundraiser.  Let's plan on that day and time.  Please pass the word on to anyone who might want their boat washed.

Pre-Season Meeting

Our fall pre-season meeting with be Monday August 26th at 6pm at Lakewood.  This meeting is for both parents and sailors to discuss the upcoming season. 

First Practice

Our first practice will be Tuesday September 3rd 3:15pm to 6:30pm.  Tuesdays and Thursdays from that point forward.

Fundraiser and Regatta RSVP SOON

It turns out Aug 18th was a bad day to have the fundraiser, no one could make it.  So lets plan another day.  This time you tell me when you can make it.  Here is a quick online poll I would like all of you to take and tell me the days that you for sure could attend the fundraiser.  Please respond soon so we can get the word out.

Also, there are still FJs available to borrow for this weekends regatta.  Some of you who are not already registered should consider pairing up and racing an FJ.  If you would like to sail but don't have a partner let me know and I will help you find one.

Bellingham Regatta This Weekend

Sailors and Coaches,

Just a reminder to register for this weekends regatta in Bellingham.  Register here: jrskitosea.byc.org  The fleets registered so far are Lasers, Radials, Optis, Bics, and 29ers!  Register soon to ensure we order enough t-shirts.  Also, let me know if you need anything and I will help you get out sailing.

Boat Cleaning Fundraiser Aug 18th

Sailing Team,

Our boat cleaning fundraiser will be August 18th 9am-2pm.  Please put this on your calendar and plan on attending.  Attendance at this fundraiser is required by everyone, but if you absolutely can't make it, let me know and I have another job for you. Pass the word on to people you know who own boats down at the marina.  Send people to our website to sign up: http://www.whatcomsailing.com/fundraising.html

Come prepared for a day of washing boats.  It is typically hot, sometimes you get wet, but its a good time.  Wear clothes you don't mind getting soapy and wet.  We could use extra buckets, soap, towels, hoses, etc.

Bellingham Youth Regatta Aug 10-11

NOR and Registration are now posted for the Bellingham Youth Regatta HERE.  The regatta is August 10th-11th on Bellingham Bay hosted by the Bellingham Yacht Club.  This is a really fun regatta that everyone should do.  It will also be good practice for upcoming NWISA Singlehanded Champs which will be on Bellingham Bay in September.

If you would like to use a BYC FJ or Laser, sign up with Megan Link.   All BYC boats will be available first come first serve.

Beach Cleaning Friday

Our beach cleaning fundraiser is this Friday, 12-3pm like last year.  I thought we would have this fundraiser early in the summer so we can get it done with.  Same place as last year, 2120 North Shore Dr.  Wear clothes you don't mind getting sandy and possibly wet.  Also borrow a rake or shovel from your parents and bring to use.
