Dear Sailing Families-
We hit the ground running tomorrow morning. Here is a quick update on the parent end of regatta planning.
I'll start out with a request. We are serving pancakes Sunday morning and yet, we have no griddles. If you have a cast iron griddle (or any griddle that can be placed on a propane grill) and would be willing to loan it out, you will be knighted and granted an audience with the queen. Please tag your griddle with your name and phone number. The queen is getting on and doesn't remember as much as she used to.
Saturday will be a grab and go breakfast. We will be cooking oatmeal and brewing coffee but, otherwise, its just setting out easy to manage snacks: Baker's Breakfast Cookies, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, bananas, satsumas, beverages. We will also start prep for the Pasta Bar Lunch. The volunteers for the morning are: Christine Griffin, Amy Kashiwa, Andrea Hood, George Kaas, and Jo Kaas.
The afternoon and evening will be busy. We serve pasta with two sauces, Caesar Salad, rolls, apples, cookies and dessert bars, and beverages. We will also prep for the Grilled Hamburger Dinner. Lots of slicing. We will serve Burgers and fixings, baked beans, potato salad, greek salad, melon, fruit cobbler, ice cream, and beverages. Volunteers for the afternoon are: Tracie Johannessen, Angie Chambers, Jo Kaas, George Kaas, and some "floaters"--you know who you are.☺
I have another engagement this afternoon and evening and will not be available after 2:00pm today. If you would like to volunteer to help or to donate, please feel free to e-mail me. I will check my mailbox this evening, but may not have the opportunity to respond. Thank you all. --jo
