End of Season

Today, May 18th, is the last day of practice. Looking forward to a breezy afternoon and hopefully some sunshine!

As we wrap up the season I wanted to thank everyone for their flexibility as we got back in the swing of things. Districts went off without a hitch. Congratulation to Sehome for finishing 5th overall and Bellingham for finishing 12th. A big thank you to all the sailors who came out to support their teams.

We have set a tentative date for the most important race of the year. We will plan to hold The Golden Bailer race on Saturday May 29th. This date is weather dependent and could get pushed back if conditions are not superb. We will also plan to have an end of season party and awards night on the same day as the Golden Bailer race. More info on that coming soon. If you are interested in hosting that event please let me know.

I also wanted to share with you some opportunities for summer sailing:

The Bellingham Yacht Club has a race team program that practices throughout the summer season.  This program is run by our own Coach Shea! They sail a variety of boats and attend regattas in the Northwest Youth Racing Circuit. A great way to improve your skills before we start up again next fall. Check out the program at youth.byc.org

The Community Boat Center in Fairhaven also has summer programs. Check them out here: https://www.boatingcenter.org/
