Ranking Regatta#3

Hi everyone,

We will not be attending Ranking Regatta #3. With spring break plans being a conflict for the vast majority of sailors, and the event being Gold only, we are unable to send a team to the event. Thank you to the sailors who made efforts to help make it happen.

We will be sending as many sailors and teams as possible to silver fleet race champs in Anacortes. Unlike last year, silver and gold fleet race champs are on separate weekends which allows us to maximize our numbers at silver champs.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best,
Cooper and Anna

Re: Silver RR2 Logistics and Waiver

Also, if any other parents are interested in helping out with the Silver regatta this weekend (helping with registration, parking on Saturday morning or getting on the water either day as a mark setter), please let me know!

I just sent out volunteer logistics to those who have talked to me already- if you did not get an email about it but want to help, let me know.

Best,
Anna

Good afternoon,

Here are the final logistics for the silver regatta in Bellingham this weekend:

Sailors: Dawson, Atticus, Ajax, Marin, Aiofe

Cost: $20 (covers regatta registration fee which includes snacks both days! If this cost is an issue, please contact me for a scholarship, no worries at all.

Driving: Since it is a home regatta, sailors and parents are driving themselves to this event

Please read this. It includes the racing schedule, a map of the parking lot, the race course diagrams, and a reminder that wetsuits are required at this event!

Waivers and Registration: All sailors need to complete these two online forms before competing this weekend. One is to register as a sailor within the competitive conference, and must be completed before sailing in any regattas this spring: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScOfzKgRK_FRSHsNyuT4MS_raF1Vlep3ptuYUUIVJWAiesRRw/viewform

RR#2 SILVER March 15/16

Good evening,

Silver team going to the "home" aka Lake Whatcom Regatta:

Sailors- Dawson, Atticus, Ajax, Marin, Aiofe (5 sailors)
We do not have enough sailors to send a Squalicum team to varsity- therefore, we will have a mixed team here at home working on doing well in Silver.

Drivers- Since it is a "home" event, sailors can drive themselves and we will not be organizing carpools

Address- WWU Lakewood Watersports Facility, 2410 Lake Whatcom Blvd, Bellingham, WA 98229

Schedule
Saturday March 15th
9:45AM Arrive to help set up
10:00AM Report Time - other teams arrive
10:45AM Competitors Meeting
11:30AM First Start

Sunday March 16th
9:15AM Arrive to help set up
9:30AM Report Time - other teams arrive
10:30AM First Start
3:00PM No Starts After

Costs - $20 Registration Fee, includes snacks both days. May be a small additional cost for group food

Food - Dawson's mom Lorena is leading the food organization for this event. If anyone is interested in helping out, please let me and Lorena know!

Notice of Race - (RR#2 Silver NOR) Please read.

We currently have 14 visiting teams and around 70 sailors signed up for the silver event we are hosting. If you haven't been to Lakewood before, it's awesome, it's where the WWU team sails and the high school team started there! Lakewood has a lounge that includes a kitchenette and fireplace, which is nice for these earlier spring regattas.

If any parents or family members of sailors are interested in helping out, on or off the water, please let me know!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
Anna

Regatta Signup Reminder- Please fill out info for March 15/16!

Good morning,

Please go through and fill out your availability for the next few weekends Regatta Signup Sheet by tonight. If you can fill out availability for all events, that's even better, but we really need info for Ranking Regatta #2 which is coming up in just ten days (March 15/16).

Gold sailors will be traveling down to Bainbridge and sailing in Eagle Harbor. Silver sailors will be staying at home and sailing at Lakewood on Lake Whatcom. In order to figure out which sailors are going where, we need to know who is able to go.

Thank you to those who have filled it out already!

Women’s Clinic March 8/9

Good morning,

The plan for the Women's clinic is that everyone who signed up to go can go. August's mom is driving, we are driving there and back both days.
Here is the current plan, which may change if more sailors can go:

Saturday: Aiofe, August (August's mom driving)
Sunday: Aiofe, August, Avery (August's mom driving)

If we have uneven numbers we will rotate through.

The overall schedule for the clinic has not been released yet, but I would expect we are meeting at Sehome Hill Haggen's around 7am Saturday and at SSP from 9-5 Saturday and 9-3 Sunday. I will confirm as soon as I hear from the hosts.

All sailors should bring a sack lunch and lots of snacks. Clinics often include a classroom session and a long block of sailing, instead of regattas which has more rotating on and off the water, so bring a water bottle and snacks that are easily accessible on the water.

Sailors, if you have not signed up your availability for next weekend yet, please do ASAP.

If anyone has questions, please let me know.

Best,
Anna
